PRESS RELEASE ON THE OCCASION OF THE TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP MEETING WITHIN THE SKOPJE PROCESS

Organized by the OSCE and UNHCR missions, representatives of the delegations of Pristina, Belgrade, Skopje and Podgorica today held a video conference of the Technical Working Group within the inter-institutional regional initiative "Skopje Process", launched to provide lasting solutions for all displaced persons inside and outside Kosovo.
Delegations presented at the conference progress in providing better conditions for return and durable solutions in the following areas: personal documentation, property rights (access to property), security and dialogue, planning and implementing durable solutions for displaced persons and establishing a data management system.
"The right to return must not be called into question. The moment we are in is also very important for the return of the displaced. It is important to continue the regional initiative that can significantly contribute to the implementation of point 12 of the Washington Agreement, of which the Skopje process is a part, and which concerns the provision of permanent solutions for refugees and internally displaced persons. The issue of the return of displaced persons refers to the rule of law, and that is exactly why it is important to constantly work on the best possible solution to this problem, "said Minister Jevtić during his speech today.
As for the next steps, the delegations of Pristina, Belgrade, Skopje and Podgorica agreed on the application of good practices and models that have already yielded concrete results in terms of durable solutions for refugees and displaced persons through the regional housing program implemented in the region. within the "Sarajevo Process".
During the video conference, it was agreed to hold a high-level forum that would provide political support through the "Skopje Process" for the implementation of regional housing programs for the care and integration of displaced persons and returnees to and from Kosovo.
