RETURNEE GIVEN EQUIPMENT FOR GENERATION OF INCOME
Pristina, December 16, 2020
Four returnee families, for whom the Ministry of Communities and Returns built houses this year, received equipment and tools that enable these families economic stability, employment and a source of income. Returnee Žarko Ađančić from Babin Most in the municipality of Obilić was given equipment for meat processing. There are also young people in the Adjancic family who will now be engaged in meat processing, from which they expect significant income. In Gracanica, vulcanization equipment was handed over to the family of Ivan Dimic, in the village of Zrze in the municipality of Rahovec, returnee and professional musician Nexhat Krasniqi received musical equipment and sound system, while in Gjakova Halil Imeri received work tools with the help of which he expanded their activities and services, thus generating income for their family.
During the delivery of the mentioned equipment to the returnees, the officials of the Ministry of Communities and Returns pointed out that the practice has shown that the employment of returnees and the creation of conditions to have sources of income are the main preconditions for sustainable return and survival. Satisfied customers expressed great gratitude for, as they say, "such significant economic support in uncertain times."
This type of economic empowerment and integration of returnees is implemented by the Ministry of Communities and Returns in cooperation with the European Union Office in Kosovo, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This joint project entitled “Return and Reintegration” (EU RRK-5) is being implemented in 12 selected municipalities in Kosovo.
