Construction of 62 new homes in six municipalities in Kosovo approved

The electronic session of the Steering committee of the Project "Return and Reintegration in Kosovo, Phase Five (RRK5)", attended by representatives of the Ministry of Communities and Returns, the Office of the European Union in Kosovo, UNHCR and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) 62 houses for displaced persons in the municipalities of Kosovo Polje, Gracanica, Kamenica, Novo Brdo, Prizren and Strpce. The implementation of the project is currently slowed down and significantly hampered by the coronary virus pandemic in Kosovo and in the region.
In addition to building new homes in the mentioned municipalities, selected beneficiaries will also receive financial assistance in order to start their own businesses for their economic empowerment and income generation.
The Project "Return and Reintegration in Kosovo, Phase Five (RRK5)" is funded by the EU Office in Kosovo and the Ministry for Communities and Return, and implemented by the IOM. The project aims at the return of displaced persons and the reintegration of internally displaced persons from Kosovo into 12 municipalities, namely: Gracanica, Kosovo Polje, Gjakova, Novo Brdo, Obilić, Orahovac, Prizren, Peja, Istok, Kamenica, Klina and Strpce.
