PRESS RELEASE ON THE OCCASION OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
Pristina, December 3, 2020
"Full and equal participation of persons with disabilities in all spheres of social life must be our imperative because respect for the basic human rights, dignity and values of every person are universal principles and obligations," said Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic on the occasion of International Day of Persons with disabilities.
On that occasion, Minister Jevtić called on the public to understand each other and strengthen awareness of tolerance, assistance and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. We all need to be more committed to enabling people with disabilities to have equal access to the environment, information, education, employment and social protection. In this regard, persons with disabilities and their organizations and associations working on their sustainable integration into society can always count on the support of the Ministry of Communities and Returns.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3, has been marked since 1992, when the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution providing for the equal enjoyment of human rights and equal participation in the society of persons with disabilities.
