Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Return in resignation Dalibor Jevtić met today with the congressman Eliot Engel during a series of meetings held in Washington on the occasion of the Prayer Breakfast.
During a meeting with the American official, Jevtic pointed to the problems and possibilities of solving them so that the current situation in Kosovo would be better. He told him once more that the rights of all peoples in Kosovo must be respected and that nothing should be done that would endanger any rights.
"A dialogue must be established in order to solve the accumulated problems, which seems to me to burden the lives of all citizens in Kosovo. This must be the primary goal of both Pristina and Belgrade. I know it will not be easy, but if we want that the future for us and our future generations wont be compromised, we have to come in as soon as possible, "the minister said.
It is also true that the taxes imposed on imports of goods from Serbia are most affected by the people living in Kosovo and, therefore, should be suspended for this reason.
During the meeting, it was concluded that the solution to this issue opens the way to the dialogue.
"Tensions between Belgrade and Pristina have a bad influence on the overall situation in the Western Balkans, and therefore we must work hard to overcome all disagreements," said Minister Jevtic.
During this, as in previous meetings, Jevtic looked at the problem of the return of displaced persons, and this question must finally be closed in a positive way.
